Editor 03 Jun 2018, 11:33 AM Share Tweet Ini bukanlah kali pertama ada gadis Melayu Muslim menyertai pertandingan ratu cantik. Tetapi buat Nurul Shamsul seorang gadis campuran Malaysia - Indonesia, ia adalah kali pertama buat gadis Melayu terpilih ke Top 20 acara ratu cantik. Walaupun dibesarkan di New Zealand sejak berusia 5 tahun tetapi Nurul tak pernah melupakan asala usul negaranya iaitu, Malaysia. Alhamdulillah! I am so happy and excited to announce that I am in the finals for Miss Universe New Zealand! As a hijabi I will be the first in New Zealand to make it to the finals and one of the first in the world to ever do so. I hope that this opportunity will help break boundaries and stereotypes. I also hope that together we can redefine the meaning of what beauty is. ❤️❤️❤️ #missuniverse #missuniversenz #munz #journeytomissuniverseA post shared by Nurul Shamsul 🌺 (@nurulzbshamsul) on Apr 30, 2018 at 1:17am PDT To new hopes and dreams. May democracy prevail. 🇲🇾 It is important to always know who you are and where you come from. Stick to your culture and your traditions because it’s such a shame when people assimilate to fit in. Be proud of all that you are. ❤️ From my own experiences, what I love about New Zealand is that people are more accepting of different cultures and ethnicities. This is what makes New Zealand unique- all the different cultures we have. So don’t be afraid to embrace who you are and don’t forget about your roots. 🌺A post shared by Nurul Shamsul 🌺 (@nurulzbshamsul) on May 10, 2018 at 11:12pm PDTNurul merupakan pelajar di University of Waikato dan menyertai Miss Universe New Zealand adalah untuk mencari dana bagi membantu kanak-kanak yang hidup miskin dan kebuluran. After starting an Amnesty International Human rights group at Morrinsville College and then at Waikato University, I am so happy to be part of an amazing community with like-minded people. During the Amnesty International Annual Hui (AGM), it really warmed my heart to see the efforts that we have done, has made a positive difference to the world. A fire for human rights has always been in my heart and I don’t think it will ever extinguish. But it gives me hope. I know that sometimes as individuals, we may feel small in the world but together, we never know what we can achieve and the lives that we can change. “It’s better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.” -Amnesty International @amnestyatwaikato #humanrights #amnestyinternationalA post shared by Nurul Shamsul 🌺 (@nurulzbshamsul) on May 6, 2018 at 8:08pm PDT Sumber: Instagram @nurulzbshamsul Share Tweet Filled Under : missuniverse melayu hijab muslim *Kami mempunyai hak untuk memadamkan komen yang menyentuh sensitiviti/tidak bersesuaian.
